I know I'm not the only one who's excited about implementing guided math this year. I also know I'm not the only one who would like just a little bit more support as I work towards getting it to run smoothly & effectively in my classroom.
But guess what.... there's a Guided Math Yahoo Group!
& Laney Sammons (the author herself) is the moderator!
Besides having lots & lots of really good discussions (there's actually a Guided Math book study going on there right now, too!), you can also ask questions (& get some answers!), share your frustrations & successes, & get some great ideas.
That's probably not a surprise...but here's some surprising news!
There are also TONS of
FILES
- assessment checklists
- math word walls
- calendar stations
- charts
- lesson plans
LINKS
- Anchor activities
- Math conference
- Math journaling
- Middle school math games
- Ideas for using manipulatives
This is just a wonderful resource for those of us who are planning to start guided math, & for those who are just curious about it.
Hop on over to the Guided Math Yahoo group & request to join (Boy, was I surprised when LANEY emailed my approval!).
I also have something in the works for support here in the blogging community for guided math. What would you want it to look like?
Let me know what you'd like to see....

Thank you for posting this! I went over and joined. I am trying Math workshop in summer school right now and LOVE IT! You have a great blog!

All Things Teachery
My school doesn't use Guided Math but I didn't think to check for groups for my math series. I could really use more teachers to bounce ideas off. Good idea.

I'm joining now! Thanks for sharing. I'd love some sort of support throughout the year. I tried guided math last year but wasn't consistent. I hope to do better this year!
