Indiana Blogger & Pinspired Plans

Here are my Pinspired plans for this week....
We are still working on area & perimeter in Math, & I found these awesome activities on Pinterest:
I pinned this super cute Perimeter Song. My class of kiddos just love songs. (Remember the Fraction Song we wrote? I still hear them singing that song!) So I know they'll just love this one!

After a bit of clicking and googling, I found 2nd Grade with Mrs. Wade as the original source. On that original post, she also has an activity in which kiddos write their name in fancy bubble letters, then draw a box around it & measure the perimeter. Glad I found the original source, because I'm adding that to my plans too! My kiddos LOVE writing in fancy bubble letters!

We also have these cool area robots in the plans for the week. This is just SO cute! Good Morning, Mrs. Rubie is the original source for this awesome activity. I like that after creating their robots, we can assemble them into a class book. I never thought about class books in Math. Great idea!

We're also doing Main Idea & Details. I really like this activity. I love how it really reinforces the idea that the details SUPPORT the main idea (like the legs support the table). This idea comes from the fabulous Lesson Plan Diva .

I'm linking up with Learning in Wonderland's weekly Pinspired linky party. Make sure you stop over & check out even more Pinspired plans! I find lots of great ideas every week!!

How did I miss this?! BIG thanks to Fifth in the Middle for coordinating a blogs by state reference for all of us! I've wondered how many of the blogs I visited are Hoosier blogs. Now I know! If you haven't checked it out yet, just click on my icon to go to her page. Make sure you link up your blog!

    1. I know..right?! It's funny you say that, because I had just recently discovered some other bloggers from Indiana & wondered if there were any others...why DIDN'T I think of that? lol Not as brilliant as 5th in the Middle, I guess!

  3. The table with the "supporting" detail legs is genius! It took me a second to make that connection. It's so perfect!
Thank you for linking up these wonderful ideas!
